On Wednesday, the school held its first Spelling Bee with some children who regularly go to the 'Wordy Club' with Mr Beake taking part. Children had researched and had learnt to spell some particularly tricky words. The first round consisted of previously covered spellings, 4 for each child. The second round was a two-chance, knock-out round which was on unknown words and this score was eventually added to their overall score.
The runner up was Ella (Y4) and the overall winner was Lewis (Y5). All children showed great concentration, resilience and courage in the rounds. Well done everyone.
In the video below you can see the excitement as Mr. Beake adds up the final scores.
