Welcome to the Pocock class page. We are the Year 4 class at Little Plumstead. Our class teacher is Mr Dunant.

Our class is named after Maggie Aderin-Pocock. She is inspirational as although she struggled at school due to dyslexia, she grew up to complete a PhD and become a leading space scientist, educator and communicator. She has been fascinated by space and astronomy since she first watched Star Trek as a child, and today she is a presenter on numerous science documentaries and has written several books about space for children and adults. As a black, female scientist, she has also done a huge amount to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. We believe that she aligns with our school vision of ‘From a tiny seed, all things are possible…’

“I want to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and innovators, and show them that anything is possible if you follow your passion and work hard.”     Maggie Aderin-Pocock

Class Information

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday.

On these days, please can your child come to school in their PE kit. As the weather grows colder, please can you also ensure they bring in a jumper. Children who wear ear studs will need to take them out for PE – those who have only recently had their ears pierced will need to cover their ears with tape.

Library is Friday.

Please see below for an overview of our learning in the autumn term.
