Arctic Animals

Thursday 30th January 2020
As part of our Arctic topic, today the children have been exploring some of the animals that live in the countries that make up the Arctic circle. We found out lots of interesting facts about them, and we've learnt so much about polar bears that we were able to add lots more to them!
We then looked at maps of the Arctic circle. Each map had a key alongside it (pictures of the different animals). Some children had to read the information about each animal and then create their own completed map by sticking pictures of the animals into the countries they live in. Some children had to use the map keys to help them to answer different questions about the Arctic.
They had great fun using the keys and it was wonderful to see them so excited about reading maps in different ways.
