Coronavirus Advice and information

At Little Plumstead Primary School, the safety of our pupils and staff is of paramount importance and together we can help slow the spread of coronavirus by following the advice below.

  • Wash your hands often – with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water aren’t available.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • If you feel unwell, stay at home and don’t attend work or school.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home.
Parents, staff and pupils should remember that the school is not a medical authority and this guidance is not intended as medical or legal advice.

Should I keep my child off school?

The NHS website explains the circumstances under which individuals should self-isolate.

Please call the school office on the first day of absence as usual and follow the NHS guidance on how to self-isolate and when to contact NHS services such as 111.

School Closures

Our school will only be closed if one or more of the following conditions apply:

  • Not enough adult supervision to ensure the health and safety supervision of children.
  • Directed to close by Local Authority, Public Health England or another advisory body.
The decision to close the school, in the above circumstances, will be communicated to staff and communicated to parents via the usual methods of school communication and on the Norfolk School Closures site.

In the event of closures work for pupils will be shared via the class pages on the school website. Further information about learning from home will be shared with families if the need to close arises.
