Forest School is a ‘hands on’ programme that provides opportunities for children to engage in self-directed learning and managed risk taking whilst enjoying the natural world around them. It supports the holistic development of each child as it promotes health and fitness, increased emotional well-being, social development, communication skills, fine and gross motor skills development, gaining knowledge and understanding of the world and teamwork through individualised learning.
Children from KS1 and KS2 have enjoyed exploring Forest School. Here are some photos of the children searching for minibeasts, building dens, making pretend bonfires (we’re yet to make real ones!), creating natural art, climbing trees, moving along wobbly ropes and creating delicious muddy chocolate drinks and beef pies!
