Forest School in Ocelots

For the first half term, Ocelots are taking part in Forest School. Each week, the class go into our lovely woods with a Forest School leader and have the chance to explore the surroundings in lots of different ways. From bug hunting to den building, knot tying and rope climbing, the children have the opportunity for lots of new experiences.
Here are just a few of the photos from our first week in Forest School.
During our second week of  Forest School, we hunted for more bugs, practised our knot tying techniques and tested our knots for strength!
Here are just a few more of the pictures from week 2.
Week 3 of Forest School saw lots of den building and using the mud kitchen. We also made sound sticks and practised more knot tying.
There was much excitement in week 4 as we had a fire during Forest School! Amy showed us how to prepare a fire and how to stay safe around a fire. She then cooked popcorn on the fire which we all enjoyed.
Week 5 in forest school saw lots of craft activities. We used conkers to make webs and used sticks to make flags, along with all of our usual activities.
Week 6 and our final week of forest school. As well as all of our normal activities, we had another fire and roasted marshmallows to make s'mores.
Huge thanks to Amy and Miss Iaccarino for the last 6 weeks.
