Modeshift Stars Travel Plan Award 2017

We are very proud to announce that our school has been the first primary school in Norfolk to receive The National School Travel Award. This was awarded due to us promoting active and sustainable travel for both staff and pupils. In recognition of this award, Mrs Innes, Mrs Palmer and two pupils attended the award ceremony on 23rd November at County Hall where they were presented with the award. We hope to continue to encourage you all to enjoy the fresh air walking to and from school.

Modeshift STARS is the national schools awards scheme that has been established to recognise schools that have demonstrated excellence in supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable travel.

The scheme encourages schools across the country to join in a major effort to increase levels of sustainable and active travel in order to improve the health and well-being of children and young people.

Every school in England (outside of London) can participate in Modeshift STARS for free. On completion of an application for Modeshift STARS, schools will automatically have a brand new national standard School Travel Plan.

As of September 2017, 64 organisations representing around 13,000 schools in England are signed up to Modeshift STARS.
